UPDATE: Sherman Minton Bridge Reopened

UPDATE – MARCH 13TH @ 8:55AM: The Sherman Minton Bridge is officially back open in all directions.

The Sherman Minton Bridge, connecting Louisville and New Albany, has been fully closed due to safety concerns discovered during ongoing renovations.

Officials announced the closure as crews were working on concrete repairs and found a part of the bridge deck needing immediate inspection.

The closure is part of a major rehabilitation project to extend the bridge’s life, which is over six decades old.

The Sherman Minton and Clark Memorial bridges are the only non-tolled options to cross between Kentucky and Indiana in the area.

Plan your commute accordingly until further updates are released.
