Smashing Pumpkins Guitarist Jeff Schroeder Leaves Band After 15 Years

Longtime Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Jeff Schroeder is parting ways with the band after 15 years.

In a statement, Schroeder said he wants to “explore a slightly different path” and wishes the band “all the success in the future.”

Schroeder joined the Pumpkins in the mid-2000’s as a replacement for James Iha, and stayed on after Iha himself rejoined the band in 2016.

He played on the band’s last five studio albums, including Atum, which was released in May.

What’s the ‘definitive’ Smashing Pumpkins lineup?  Think they’ll ever reunite with original bassist D’arcy Wretzky?
