Spoon Announce New Album, Release ZZ Top-Inspired Single

Spoon are back with a new album and single – with a surprising source of inspiration.

The band will release their 10th studio album, Lucifer on the Sofa, on Feb. 11th.

Frontman Britt Daniel says the lead single, “The Hardest Cut”, was inspired by – of all things – ZZ Top, a band Daniel “spent a lot of 2018 and 2019 listening to.”

Daniel describes the album as “the sound of classic rock as written by a guy who never did get Eric Clapton”.
