Stone Sour is set to release their new live album next week – an album they didn’t even know was being recorded.

During an appearance on the ‘MetalSucks Podcast’, guitarist Josh Rand said they had decided to record a concert during an upcoming Russian tour. But the equipment arrived early and the crew set it up for an October 2018 show in Reno, without the band’s knowledge.

Rand says when they listened to the show they were “pretty stoked with the performance of everything” and decided to roll with it, leaving the show “one-hundred percent raw and live with no overdubs or anything”.

Hello, You Bastard: Live In Reno will be released Dec. 13th.

Do you prefer live albums or studio albums? Do you think band performed better because they didn’t know it was being recorded?
