There is a rise in car thefts across the U.S. and social media may be to blame.

According to data from USAFacts.org, there was a rise in car thefts in major U.S. cities between 2019 and 2022.

Apparently, the rise is due to a TikTok trend showing how to steal Kias and Hyundais.

In response to this news, TikTok shared a statement saying that it “does not condone this behavior which violates our policies and will be removed if found on our platform.”

How do you think social media sites like TikTok have changed the way people act? Have you ever had a vehicle stolen?
