When Will Live Music Return?
When 2020 began, the global concert industry was on track to be a record year, then the pandemic hit.
The industry has lost close to $40 billion dollars from ticket sales, sponsorships, merchandise, etc.
Many in the live music industry are looking to bring shows and festivals back in the late Spring or early Summer of 2021 and hoping that touring will resume in the Fall of 2021.
An infectious disease expert says that “everything will have to go right” in order for the live music to start again. Additionally, he said that he expects outdoor venues could possibly come back in the Fall but not to expect indoor venues until early 2022.
