Willow Smith Joined Smashing Pumpkins on Stage

The Smashing Pumpkins performed at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 19, as part of their “Spirits On Fire” tour.

The band performed music from various parts of their catalog, including old fan favorites and songs from their most recent three-part album, Atum.

The Smashing Pumpkins performed “Cherub Rock,” the lead single from their 1993 album Siamese Dream, during which Willow Smith unexpectedly joined them on stage. Willow played rhythm guitar with the band during the song, even though she did not actually sing during the performance.

Billy Corgan, lead singer of the Smashing Pumpkins, and Willow had a discussion back in October on his Thirty-Three podcast. She commended Corgan for setting an example for other male musicians by wearing a dress onstage in previous performances.

Is it acceptable for male artists to wear a dress on stage? Have you seen it done?
