Legendary WWE Hall of Fame wrestler, The Iron Sheik, has passed away at the age of 81.

Sheik, whose real name was Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri, was a former WWF World Heavyweight champion and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.

He was known for his iconic look and his memorable rivalries against the likes of Hulk Hogan, Bob Backlund, and Sgt. Slaughter.

Prior to professional wrestling, Vaziri was a bodyguard for the last Shah of Iran and a Greco-Roman wrestler in his home country.

He’s survived by his wife Caryl, whom he was married to for 47 years, and his children Tanya and Nikki and son-in-law Eddie.
