X Starting To Charge $1 Per Year To Send Tweets

Elon Musk is testing out charging to use X (formerly Twitter, which we all still call it anyway).

New users in the Philippines and New Zealand will have to pay $1 a year for the platform’s basic features.

X’s Support account released a statement that said, “This new test was developed to bolster our already successful efforts to reduce spam, manipulation of our platform, and bot activity while balancing platform accessibility with the small fee amount. It is not a profit driver.”
