YouTube Cracking Down On Ad Blockers

Looking to block those YouTube ads?  Well, YouTube wants to block your blocker.

The platform has began cracking down on ad-blocking software, with users getting the message “video playback is blocked unless YouTube is allowlisted or the ad blocker is disabled.”

A spokesperson says ad blockers violate YouTube’s terms of service and keep YouTube creators from making money off ad revenues – but it’s also likely they just want you to subscribe to the premium ad-free tier.

Are you willing to pay extra to not have to sit through ads – or would you rather have an ad-supported tier at a lower price?
